Bless you! (2013)

MIRJA at Qdoba
Bless you!

It's been another blessing-filled year for the MARJI Weseloh bunch in 2013.

It kind of seems like we spent more time away from home than at home this year.
Probably because most of the memory-making moments were while on vacation or with family "up north".

Away games
- In February - Matt went up north to support his dad and family in what we thought was going to be colon cancer surgery.  Turned out to be colon surgery (no cancer-yay) and recovery.  Matt got his fix of snow and ice shoveling.
May 2013 - MARJI
- In April and May - Matt, Amy and Isaac headed north (Isaac finished his virtual High School obligations early) and made the rounds of family and friend events.  Isaac, Devin Weseloh and Wyatt Albert all had graduations (and joint celebrations).  We also took in confirmations for Daniel Schnackenberg, Anthony Elia and a graduation for Katrina Schnackenberg.
Graduation Vacation June 2013
- In May and early June we made the annual sojourn to the most wonderful place on earth - Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
- On our way to and from "up north" we stopped in Branson, Missouri and enjoyed stopovers of various lengths.

Post-rehearsal sillies in Minneapolis
- In July - Matt, Amy and Isaac joined almost every other member of the Weseloh and Unseth clans in Minneapolis for a Tribute concert to Ted Unseth and the American Classic Jazz Orchestra.

A blast at Carnaval Brazilian grill
- We also celebrated anniversaries and birthdays with a fabulous gastronomical sojourn at the Carnaval Brazilian Grill in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Soggy Silver Dollar City day
- In August we extended our "taking Isaac to college" trip by a week and spent some fun days in Branson, Missouri at Silver Dollar City and White Water.  Silver Dollar City had a new roller coaster so some of us (Amy, Isaac) just HAD to ride it.

Amy, Kiki and Mike in Pagosa
- In September we had an encore of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  This time we brought Matt's sister Kiki and her husband Mike to enjoy the wonders of God's Colorado creation.

- Through the year - Matt traveled for work several times (to Roseville, California; Plano, Texas and Houston, Texas).

Outlaw Run in Branson
- In December - we headed to the frozen wastelands to the warm welcome of family and friends again.  We spent two wonderful weeks in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.

Thanks family - for putting us up...and putting up with us.

Happy Texas graduate!
Smoking the turkey (after smoking a 5K)
Home games:
- Matt and Isaac enjoyed a little of the South by Southwest (SXSW) madness with the first-ever Gaming Expo portion of the event.
- Isaac ran the Capitol 10K in April in Austin with 20,000+ other people
- Isaac graduated from Texas Virtual High School with his Texas graduation party in June
At the Legend of Zelda symphony
- Isaac and Matt attended the Legend of Zelda Symphony.
- Matt, Amy and Isaac participated in a few of the monthly Vern's 5K races in Georgetown, Texas.
- Matt, Amy and Isaac assisted with worship at Holy Word in Pflugerville, Texas.  Holy Word started renting a Seventh Day Adventist church on Sunday mornings.  It's on property adjacent to our newly purchased land for the future Holy Word site.
- Matt and Amy attended a pre-season Dallas Cowboys game.  What a spectacle.

Living Liver Donor pursuit
Matt started wearing a new hat.  That is, a new role as a systems and business analyst for the Human Resources Information Technology Analytics and Reporting team.  (FYI - SA/BA for HRIT A&R at HP)  He still thoroughly enjoys the bicycle commute to work (year-round in Austin) and has slowly started becoming a runner.  Matt finally got the garage cleaned out enough to get the car into it.  (We've lived here three years)

Matt and Amy - May 2013
Matt volunteered to become a living liver donor.   See more (including the latest status) on lifelivingliver.blogspot.com

Amy enjoys teaching music lessons and being in the town and state of her favorite football teams.  (Longhorns, Cowboys)

Isaac enjoying the toy department at Ikea
Isaac graduated from high school, is making music (see NWTB at BandCamp and Soundcloud) and is loving Visual Communications at Lake Area Tech in Watertown, SD.

Matt, Joe and Natalie at NSU

Joe is rehearsing for concerts, recitals, operas, musicals and other performance artsy things while working on Music Education and Theater at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.

Ross is enjoying work at A-i Computer Solutions in Watertown, SD.  He gets to solve people's computer and network problems AND is paid to do it.

We resolve to attempt to try to begin to...
Enchanted Rock State Park

- Blog here with some pictures once a month in 2014 so we don't have to try to remember a whole years worth of stuff at once.
- Get Matt to run a 10K
- Using our Texas State Parks pass to share more of God's Texas wonders

God bless your day/week/month/year and keep you and yours happy and safe.
Do what you love and love what you do!
